Ok, I just noticed the replacement interval on the serpentine belt on my 1999 is 60k

I put my first replacement on at 137k, now I'm at 200k

How often are people replacing serp belts in practice!

When they snap or start shredding. On my last car I was replacing them every 50k miles due to wear and cracking. That car wasn't the quality engineered product this one is, so you may get significantly more life.

Those belts usually give you quite a bit of warning before they let go. Certainly enough to get to the parts store for a replacement, likely enough to get you wherever you're going for a few months. It's cheap enough that you might replace it "just because" during a timing belt job, but durable enough that you could neglect it without incurring disaster.

If it breaks, it can take out the the timing belt cover as it flails around and the TB with it. This has happened, be warned!

Check the belt for cracks appearing and when you see them get a new one. Mileage is not the only determining factor, heat, environment and oil/crap leaking can reduce the lifespan.

When I find them on crack. lol I seen a YouTube video where a guy sprayed something on his and claims it last 700,000+ miles.

I think I've seen that video before. Believe he was using Vinyl/Rubber conditioner.

A broken serp (new but "off brand" (not OEM)) a couple years ago took out my timing (skipped time) on my C70 as it wrapped itself around the crankshaft. ... broken belt = broken engine. Do the math.
