Re: 99 V70 R rough idle after warm up and stalls
Car is at the shop and they are trying to figure out what is the issue. They think car runs rich so OC sensor is next to replace. When I scanned it with VIDA no code came up related to that. They did replace ECT sensor ( symptoms still exist) not sure why as I replaced it with one from JY before. More to come.

On a turbo, you will get running like this with loose induction hoses. They tend to seal and then open again

UPDATE:
Car is back and running fine and now I can enjoy it. Swedish Car Specialists shop replaced oxygen sensor (running rich), ECT sensor (as a precaution) and did Xemodex QMSF-1025 TECHNICAL BULLETIN – ETM Power Supply bypass (as a precaution)
Did 30 miles trip on highway at speed of 60-80 mph with out any issues. Trans fluid looks brown so time to do drain and fill on transmission with Valvoline Dex III, and rear diff fluid change.
There is a clunk coming from front on bumps perhaps sway bar links needs to be replaced. ANY RECOMMENDATIONS? Meyle HD or Lemforder or anything else?

As per above valvoline dexron6 being backwards compatible with dex3, I dunno. The assumption is yes. I called Mobil tech office about delved atf 236.90 being reverse comp with all Mercedes 236.10, .12., .14? They did not know. Delvac atf is listed only certified for Mercedes 236.90 and Allison trannys. And delvac is synthetic, four jugs 5L $90 at Walmart. I might test dex6 on my 2001 Volvo s40.
I do want to note a caution that valvoline max life being multi vehicle compatible, with respect to elemental analysis of Honda, idemitsu, n valvoline max life on bobtheoilguy.com.
And that is valvoline is high in zinc and 600ppm phosphorus, double the first two atfs. Phosphorus binds four oxygens PO4 and is found in manydetergent cleaning products. Phosphoric acid H3PO4 in Coca Cola dissolves a steel nail when left over night. 10 times stronger than battery sulfuric acid, 100 times more corrosive than chlorine! After reading that I won’t go to Walmart n pay $30 for 5L that may damage my grant. It might be good product for one week train flush, but not good for long term Trent life over 500km.
This being said, acidity in valv max may be stabilized or neutralized by zinc, used as negative anodes and corrosion protection of steel products. And there maybe other stabilizers. In my opinion acids and oxygen is bad for tranny gear metal, even though Mercedes certifies it for 1999-2003 ML suvs. I will stick to synthetics like Fuchs titan, mogul, moly, pentosin oils and atfs all made in Germany.
The purpose of all atfs is to lubricate and adhere to metal gears without foaming like oil which traps oxygen and causes corrosion and sludge. A video of this is on omega.co.uk lube products website.
Metal treatments like Teflon, and duralube high molebdynum content pile like Quaker state. Maybe help with lubrication, but may reduce adhesion of atf to metal gears at higher trang temps when all oils loose viscosity.
Not much papers or opinions on this.

Read synthetic ATFs comparisons of expensive atf oils that new synthetics are not certified compatible with dex6!
And an opinion on bobtheoilguy.com that suggested that same grant injeeps and Mercedes ML implies Chrysler ATF+4 may be same as Mercedes 236.10 ATF?! Very interesting and cheaper sokution!
Canadian tire has synthetic and dex merc ATF 5Liter jugs from $35 Canadian. I might try synthetic atf certified for Mercedes 236.10, and maybe my s40 jj3309 atf apex?
