Egr delete 96 ecu or 96+ ecu ok too ?

Post by Turbolena »

I have a 1994 850 turbo wagon automatic. I am pretty sure the EGR valve is toast the housing is rusting and separating.
I did find one on parts geek but I know swapping in aftermarket is always a crap shoot. So I plan to delete, unless anybody has good luck with that.
Do I need to swap a 1996 ecu specifically or can it be a range . I have found online 1995-1996 ecu and 1996-1997 ecu. I assume the first option bridges a time and would have egr
Does anybody have the parts number for the proper ecu swap? I am looking at umber — 0 261 203 936 / 0261203936 Volvo Part number P09189155

Thanks for any assistance

That ECU part number is for the '97 850 GLT LPT. Not going to work for you.

The standard '96-97 HPT "turbo" ECU ends in "-072".

No idea on swapping that into a pre-OBDII car.
'97 854 T5 - Manual Swap/M4.4/COP/NA cams/P2R Brakes/16T/ chassis bracing/ XC70 nose swap
'97 855 GLT - Hers. RN swap/16T/COP/VVT/exhaust/302s/Flashed M4.4/ chassis bracing/ 2 kid seats
'78 GLE - Waiting in the wings. Future whiteblock/T5 swap.

The Others- '83 TBird turbo, '85 Mercury Marquis LTS (1 of 134), '86 LTD Wagon, '81 Granada GL, '76 Beetle, '93 F-150 I6
