Believe it or not, this is the first time the engine is out of this car.
Cookeh wrote: 07 Nov 2020, 13:56 Thanks, certainly seems plausible. Pulled apart the knackered caliper today, both pots are completely clean and free of rust/lips. One side of the caliper was sticking due to there being corrosion and a bit of a lip on the caliper bore. I've not really heard of that being an issue, so now I'm unsure if that caliper can be refurbed.
I believe you can hone the bore of the caliper. You should be able to get it leveled out without increasing the size too much for the piston to seal.

Hello, yesterday I attempted to swap out speakers. They sounded as if they were blown so I did a swap from a newer Volvo but now the speaker doesn't work at all. I couldn't see if I knocked something else loose so going to try again this weekend. Also, the door handles won't open from the inside on both passenger sides so I will attempt to work on those. I'm far from a mechanic so even this is a stretch! Not ready to give up my Volvo though.
Other things on the list to do: Fix the ghost in the radio (source turns by itself), Swap the "shift button" it has cracked and we are now shifting with the spring. "Miles to empty" screen has a ghost also. It works sometimes, other times it has an attitude

You'll be back! My '94 Laguna/tan, tattered but unstoppable. I drive it to the limit every day, and it just doesn't break. What a fantastic car.

This is only Miata #4 for me, so I'm sure it won't be long! I love these cars.

Mine is #2! I had a 97. #3 will be an NC and a 2.5 swap. I've toyed with the idea of a C5 or C6 instead but I just don't think I'd have a lot of fun in one of those.

Oooh yes, that would be a lot of fun! I'd like to get an NC, I would fit way better in one with my long legs lol.

My cousin is a Miata nut, I think his current one is at least #20. Actually he has two right now, one is a track car.

Cleaned up the old block from my buddy's S60R to see where it cracked. Looks like a VERY small crack on cylinder 4 that was opening up when it was hot. That'll certainly cause coolant consumption!
