Continued vehicle history:
About 1985 I got the newer, better car urge. We considered a new Toyota, but also looked at a couple used Mercedes. We found a 1973 280 (a 4 door sedan with 2.8 liter 6 cylinder) that appeared to be well maintained. This was quite a move upscale for us! This car had double overhead cams, hemispherical heads, 4 speed automatic transmission, and fully independent suspension. The engine had been completely rebuilt after a trip through some bushes drained the radiator and the baby sitter continued to drive the car. This was the story explained by the previous owner. I have all the receipts from this rebuild. The spark plugs were melted! The car turned out to be great and I only wish we had drove it more. We still own it.

That engine was pretty bulletproof, wasn't it? When did it last drive?

It is like the white photo with the single US headlights and painted hubcaps but in deep red. Sadly, it has not been out of the garage in several years.

What’s the condition of yours? Is it drivable? Does it need any metal surgery?
