Wobble upon Acceleration

Replaced some really sloppy suspension and engine mounts in the 'new' ’00 V70XC last week, then got an alignment. then got a weird shudder/shimmy left/right wobble when accelerating. I mentioned it to the shop and they confirmed balance on the tires.

first thoughts are CV axle or transmission torque mount (it’s one I didn’t replace).
-noticed when doing control arm and tie rods that if I pulled on the driver side CV, it would move a tiny bit and make a click; while passenger side wouldn’t budge. but I can’t hear anything while driving/turning.
-transmission torque mount doesn’t look obviously or *terribly* toasted.

fyi, the rear driveshaft was disconnected and removed by prior owner.
and yes, I checked the lug nuts and the tires look alright.
something new, or maybe I didn't notice something that was there before because the tie rod ends and ball joints were loose?

I had the same thing on my 2000 XC, it was the inner joint of the CV axle that was going bad. Replaced it and good to go. If everything else is in line like you said, balanced tires, good control arms and tie rods, it's probably the axle. May be hard to identify exactly which one though. Check for leaked grease on one for starters.
