2001-2003 S60/S80 Airbag Recall

"ONLY" 1 person has died so it's not going to cost Volvo a great deal. As my wife said you wouldn't be worrying if you didn't know. Volvo won't even notify owners till Jan 2021. A second notice will arrive when the replacement is available and they hope to have it in the bag (no pun intended) by first quarter end of 2021. If there is chaos due to the Election results... Regardless, won't cost Volvo very much so no hurry on their part I suppose.

The affected vehicles are Models S60 and S80 M/Y 2001-2003. Volvo Cars investigations using Experian data has identified that 13,853 out of 54,317 vehicles remain in operation that have ever been registered in the following Hot and Humid states Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Puerto Rico.

To remedy the concerned vehicles Volvo Cars needs to replace the Driver Airbag at no cost to the customer.

Took the mechanic about 40 minutes, total was 1 hour in and out. 8AM waiter, saw the car driven in and then out. Waited 10 minutes for someone to call me when it was done. Couldn't find the mechanic after replacement so dealer will send my paperwork USPS.

I like the color combo. Reminds me of an Orca or Panda. The A Pillars will now have gray cloth.
