2006 V70 won't unlock
My wife's V70 won't unlock, either with the key fobs or the key in the driver door lock ( I can't believe there is only one mecahnical entry on this vehicle). Anyway, this just started today, put new batteries in the remotes, the battery in the back is new 3 months ago. The little red light on the dash is flashing so the battery isn't completely dead? It would seem I would have to pry open the top of the door and pull up the latch. Any other options? Thanks.

Thanks for the video lots of good ideas, (I thought one might be a BFH) I actually have one of the kits with the bladder shown toward the end of the video. I got in, in about 10 minutes this morning. Weird though, after I got in it started right up, doors locked, unlocked with the remote. I still have to take the door panel off to figure out why it won't unlock with the key. That is purely mechanical, right?

There is a plastic clip that snaps around a rod. They deteriorate over time, and the driver's side door gets the most use. I'll bet it either broke or came loose. Hardest part is disassembling the door panel to get to it.
Make sure you disconnect the battery before starting, and use the correct battery reinstall procedure so you don't lose other modules and remote door lock function. You can search for those procedures in this forum.
Good luck.
