Seat Retrimming Trick

If you are removing seat covers for any reason, hitting the foam with steam apparently will help plump the cushions back up. Haven't tried it myself. Saw it on a couple car resto shows. Good luck with it and be sure to report your successes.

You can also use steam to soften, shrink and remove wrinkles from vinyl.
Like cleaning a paint top coat, take it easy and don't melt the vinyl.
Leatherette “faux leather" is a vinyl.

If you are going to use steam. Do your homework and don't get aggressive or impatient with it.

You never know, but I wouldn't be tempted to try it.
