I had noticed an intermittent engine stumble at idle for about the last thousand miles, so I replaced the spark plugs, using Autolite XP3923. I had good luck with them for about the last 60,000 miles, so I went with the same again. I think they do good, considering that my car uses about 1 quart of oil about every 1500 miles.
Polished out my headlight lenses. It took longer to tape off around them than to actually do the procedure! I used Meguiar’s Two Step kit, and they came out much better than I thought they would. Wish I’d taken a “before” pic.
Painted the center field of my waterfall grille black. I removed it from the car, removed the diagonal/emblem, then taped it off because I wanted to keep the chromed perimeter. I’ve been checking the nearby salvage yards for an eggcrate grille to fit, but in the meantime, this will have to do. Maybe it’ll do permanently!
Lastly, I replaced the stock horns with a pair of Hella Sharptones. They attached without difficulty to the OE horn mount tabs. I don’t know if they’re that much louder than the stock horns, but I like that they have a more irritating note. I had read about some complaining that they rust after a few years, so I clearcoated them with a couple coats of Rustoleum. I like how they look through the grille. (I really wanted a 4-horn old Cadillac set, but I thought they might block too much air flow. Well, that, and I didn’t want to figure out how to mount them!).
What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Replaced my fuel filler door-- the original one blew off the car in a windstorm while driving at 120 km/h-- it didn't latch after filling up because of a combination of the wind gusts and a broken hinge. What a crap design that hinge is, and it is compounded by the stupid latch mechanism that only activates after the car exceeds a certain speed. Not Volvo's finest hour...

07 XC70 black on black
Super clean interior which was a big draw
170k (gulp)
Geartronic 5 speed (they all have this)
Dealer serviced from 0k - 158k and I have complete paperwork for all of that, from first two owners.
Also have complete paperwork from thirds owner 158k - 170k: one oil change
Still on original struts and shocks so will replace those ASAP, many other things already done.
Will start going over it more finely in my garage and build a parts list while I wait for the FCP end of year or post-Xmas sale. They have that, right?
No pics accessible on this device but I'll get some posted soon.
Unfortunately this ends my search for an 07 V70 T5M. Wife found one she likes first.

I like that grab bar for the passenger! Did only certain models and years come with those? I need one for my 2001 S60.
Very clean looking! Black on black is nice, until summer time when the interior gets hot, but that's a beautiful car. Makes me wish I would have found a wagon.

Finally replaced my emergency brake shoes and adjusted the e brake. A nice afternoon job that I’ve been putting off for awhile. Looks like I’m going to need rear brake hoses very soon and will bleed the brakes and replace the fluid. I soaked the bleeders with penetrating fluid in anticipation for when the time comes.

28 seconds of propane heat on the bleeder will also help them come out without tears. If they are more than 5 years old buy your last paid set at FCP and replace themBlacklab467 wrote: ↑30 Dec 2020, 02:16 Finally replaced my emergency brake shoes and adjusted the e brake. I think I will get new bleeders, I have to order brake lines now anyways and can't find Pentosin 202 locally for my future steering flush so it looks like another order is coming together!

An old mechanic once showed me how to use an air hammer on the side of the caliper casting while simultaneously using a box wrench on the bleeder. Someone posted a video of it somewhere a while ago also.
