Need brake sys parts: master cylinder cover & brake pedal sensor on booster

Post by 850forum »

Out of production, mechanic checked his Volvo dealer to get the current PN & no joy with online junkyards.
My ABS light stays on.

He found one of them on a German site:
PN 1027160
Sensor, Pedalweg Bremse
This goes on the BOOSTER, not the master cylinder. Mechanic says it senses pressure.
Its NOT the electical switch on the brake pedal that lights the brake lights.
Priced at 96 Euros plus postage.
SKANDIX Shop Volvo Ersatzteile: Sensor, Pedalweg Bremse 271892 (1027160)
So these must be 3rd party parts (ersatz).

PN 9122562
Cover. Master Cylinder.
Mechanic says this is actually built in to the cap, or the cap is integral to it, so it would be part of item 5 on the upper exploded diagram on the page labeled "Master Cylinder. -1995. -1993. The diagram drawing ID on page lower right says 5277859s.

The lower diagram labels the knurled cap portion as 12 and an electrical connector going into the cap assembly as 13 ( PN 9162107 Housing AWD Control Module Hydraulic Pump Master Cylinder 2 Pole 2WD Servo...) .

The cap screws into the Fluid Reservoir.

Third item:
As long as I'm asking, years ago an electrical part failed and it comes in two varieties - with and without the optional TRACS system. The TRACS part was 3x the price, so I replaced it with the non-TRACS. If I could find the TRACs version, I might like to get it operational again. Its a hand-sized, sort of 3 sided flat metal box with a very long multiple-pin connector, and it is held onto the plug with a lever.

Crickets ?
Went to look at Christmas lights the other night - and discovered that I HAVE NO BRAKE LIGHTS !!!
Mechanic says it must be the German part.
This is distressing.

I think I found the "cap" part, but a different PN shows:

And the TRACS module, but the core charge is more than the refurb part itself, and I don't have the broken module anymore:

Go to the Midwest ABS website and reach out to mattymoo for the ABS module. The solder cracks on the power connections.

There are at least three variants I know of and probably 9 part numbers you will have to research comparability

Not sure where your located but there is a '95 850 turbo wagon in my local junkyard. Just got there about a month ago and was apparently running but was hit in the side. If you could post a pic of what you need I could see if it's available.
