I dont think our cars have the keyless start option, but they appears to be a security flaw that allows theives to start the car. I rented a 2018 vehicle that had this option and it was really cool, however with a simple electronics device it appears theives can clone the signal from your fob transmitter if you have it close to your front door.

It would be almost impossible to gain entry this way with our low tech cars because the fob only sends a signal when the button is pressed. Starting and driving the car without the key is near impossible.

Indeed, the P2 are not affected by the modern theft. With keyless, it's basically a matter of seconds to steal any car brand if any of the fobs is in range distance with the front of the house. I say 'any' because people will often leave the spare fob near the home door as well. The only protection is keeping 'all' fobs inside a faraday box (sold on Amazon)
