So may radio turns on but there is currently no sound going to the speakers.
During a recent tranny swap, the shop had to "disable" the alarm as it was basically stuck on.
I'm thinking whatever they did has led to the radio not working.
I'm wondering how to go about fixing this? Should I ask the shop what they did first or check the fuses myself?
Would tracing the wiring diagram help find a damaged wire / connection or is it a lost cause as the problem is most surely related to the recent alarm bypass?
Sorta dead in the water and needing a push.
Any ideas appreciated!

Still factory radio and amplifier? Look for a fuse for the amp. Maybe the radio is only showing the memory and not the amp. There are 2 power wires to the radio. 1 wire is constant 12 volt for the memory and the other wire is switched 12 volt.

No it's an aftermarket setup. I'll check the fuses for sure. It powers on etc. but just no sound at all to the speakers.

Same issue with aftermarket. Aftermarket head unit memory wire only connected the display comes on. It needs main power to power up the built in amp. Aftermarket constant 12 volt memory power wire is red. The main switched 12 volt wire is yellow. The Volvo wire colors will of course be different.tworedvolvos wrote: ↑05 Jan 2021, 08:03 No it's an aftermarket setup. I'll check the fuses for sure. So what does this mean then?
What are you recommending to check or to do? I really don't know much at all about this.
