Help with radio code SC-901

Post by ollebompa »

Hi,

I recently pulled a sc-901 from a v70 at the local junkyard. Looked through the car but could not find the radio code anywhere. Decided to take it anyway and wrote down the VIN. My issue is that the dealers here in the motherland charges (a substantial amount) for the code. Is anyone here able to help?

VIN: YV1LW65F9Y2716182

Although I don't know if it was the factory stereo for this car so I'm including a picture with the serial on the unit.

Thanks,
Olle

Put VIN to Volvo website... It will give you the combo in a day or so.

DO you still have the original Volvo handbook in the car? If so, over here the dealers used to put a business card in the back with the radio code in it.

If the radio is the original to the car, Then call the dealer and they will be able to give you the Code from the Vin#

If the radio is not the original to the car, the dealer can still get the code for you from the stampings on the radio casing.

To follow up on this: Volvo USA was able to get me the code. Although the tool on the website did not work and gave an error, probably due to the VIN being from a Euro car, after I contacted customer care with the above images they got back to me with the code in under 6 hours on a Sunday. Amazing!

Good to know that Volvo USA will happily sort out codes for anyone, even Euro customers!
