No warm-up sequence, cold engine temp, continuous fan

Post by ed7 »

G' day folks,
I'd been noticing my temp gauge running lower and lower over the past couple of weeks.
Now I've a cold running engine - gauge barely gets off of the bottom. Coolant level is good.
The cooling fan is on continuously - from start-up.
The engine does not go through the warm-up cycle, but starts normally.
The quick fix is to disconnect the fan and replace the thermostat.

Where should I be looking?
Mucho Gracias, Dudes

Don't disconnect the fan.
Are you getting heat in the cabin from the heater? If so, replace the temperature sensing unit. If not, replace the thermostat. I'd start here 1st.

It's usually the module (silver box) on the fan assembly that goes bad. You have two capacitors inside, Hella. May cut the wires to the box, swap it, and weld back the wires
