I am experiencing an oil leak from this brass fitting or the hose connection going into it.

Image
(click the image for the 'big picture' - this viewpoint is from above passenger side fender, up front -it's looking transverse across the car at the back of the radiator, the alternator is just visible in the lower left)
I have been thru the Haynes manual and cannot find anything about it. It is the fitting on the passenger side, back side of radiator, top -directly below large coolant hose. I believe it to be an oil cooler line (?)

Does anyone have prior experience with this - it is leaking enough to form drips and create a small "puddle" (2-3" dia) when parked.

I am theorizing this is the oil cooler inlet hose connection (I am unfamiliar with the fastening device - is there a special method to disconnection?)(BTW -there is an identical connection on the same side at the bottom of the radiator)

Any input will be helpful....

Turbo oil cooler line. I'd try prying off the metal retaining clip, and unplugging the end of that line. You'll see an o-ring that likely needs to be replaced (of course, get this o-ring from your dealer or parts place, beforehand).

The metal retaining clip can be a pain to get back on without deforming it. Personally, I overclamp them with a traditional worm-drive hose clamp, as well.

I believe it's the same kind of clamp on the ATF return line. You can go to the improved ATF flush thread in the repair database and see what kind of "pliars" will take it off. After putting mine back on, I used a zip tie around the clamp just to be on the safe side and it worked perfectly. I agree that it's probably an 0-ring inside that's lost it's ability to seal off the oil.

Thanks - they are exactly like the tranny cooler lines, great pointer....
Got the line out and pulled the o-ring and seal.

Going to try NAPA tomorrow and if they're a no go FCP Groton...

Will do top and bottom (all four) just for reassurance.

BTW: Volvo PN's 6842413 (ring) & 6842414(seal)
