Rebuilt Torque Converters

Where is the best place to buy a remanufactured torque convertor for a 1996 850 turbo? Not necessarily looking for the cheapest rebuild, but one that has a good reputation.

I've got a used one in my parts car that I could pull from but I'm trying to avoid future problems from unknown history. I thought about pulling mine out and sending off to be remanufactured. Anyone know of any good remanufacturers?

I've not heard of them going bad FWIW, so a used one may be ok. But back on topic: sorry, don't know of a source.

I did a complete fluid exchange yesterday through the output hose and the difference after 1 day has been phenomenal.

You might try L and B in Rustburg, VA. I know they rebuild later model transmissions, one of the few that do.

Right, unless the thing is polluted with burned friction material, or has burned itself, they don't really go bad.

But if needed, I can also recommend Florida Torque Converter. I used them several years ago on a GM transmission rebuild I did. There is a similar place in LA but I can't recall the name right now. Dayco in Dayton is also a big rebuilder of torque converters.
