Used the Mopar upper cylinder head product to clean the piston tops. This stuff is magical

Also - isn't all the grime and grit getting down the sides to the ring lands and scraping up the walls? Any way to suck that out of there with a tiny vac nozzle?

True. Engines always ingest some dirt. It gets collected in the filter. Similar to the crud in our bodies, it gets collected in the waste streams and filtered in the kidneys.
In both cases, if you clean most of it up, the patient will live a while longer. Ever had a barium lower GI exam? Nasty stuff, but it flushes out in a few days.

So at this stage, could the pan be dropped and the pistons disconnected and pushed out the top ? I am just thinking that when I need to do this project myself that maybe I'd go ahead and do the rings/bearings too ( Not trying to foment job creep ).
