Canadian tire has battery heaters which are 50W or 80W. That with a thin synthetic oil may be sufficient to give your battery a chance. But also taking a decent run gives the battery a chance to re-charge again especially if you are running all the bells and whistles.

One could also throw a little Honda EU lunch
box generator or it’s equivalent at the car for
a few hours. For very little gas in one of those,
you can stay out of your house battery reserves.
And your Volvo will be Very appreciative. 😎

I don’t know what the folks in Alberta are trending towards,
but most folks in interior Alaska have made the move to a
small smart charger in lieu of a heating plate or pad.

A charged battery shouldn’t freeze,
and the charger uses less energy to boot.

They still freeze at ~-80. Those in Antarctica learned this the hard way in 1983.
Wisdom requires knowledge as a prerequisite, but knowledge can be developed due to a lack of wisdom.
In order to learn how to fix something, you must first learn how to break it.

I have an H7 in mine. I had to mod the hold down clip slightly, and the air intake pieces don't engage fully, but they seem to hold together OK.

Starts on the first crank at -25F. I have a cigarette lighter voltmeter I use to monitor the battery and charging system health.
