Swapping seats from my parts car into my daily driver and ran into a snag tonight (my parts car has a better driver seat and i am trying to put it in my DD)
The front right bolt of the driver seat in my DD, I started to unbolt it. Then it just spun and spun. So apparently the nut that this bolt is threaded on came dislodged from the body. I looked beneath the car but its not clear if I can get access to where this nut is. So basically I cannot remove the bad seat of my DD to replace it with the better seat from my parts car
So have you all run into this? One of the body nuts coming dislodged from the body? Ill check in the daylight if I can get access to this area beneath the driver seat, but curious if anyone else has experienced this

I’ve got my 1998 she’ll in the driveway and will take a picture of what you are looking at.
Sounds ugly. I think you can sneak a vice grip onto that nut, but not positive
Plan b, grind off top of the M10 bolt. Ugh.
Good news is you have to do that for safety reasons anyhow. Seats need to be firmly bolted in

Yes, same thing happend to me, with the nut nearer to the passenger side.
Only solution was to cut a flap in the carpet and drill a hole (I used 2 holes side by side) into the metal so I could put something through to hold the nut. Also a lot of fun when reinstalling... It really sucks, but can be done.
When you bend the carpet flap back in place it is not visible.
I have had this issue on a few nuts already... they seem to be pressed into the chassis, but have come lose over the years... not the best Idea volvo had there.

I think I remember taking it off I got off easy with wedging a screwdriver in there to get it under tension and using an impact gun to get it out. Don't remember exactly.
Took a quick pic; maybe there are better ways to do it.

Hello Everyone,
Well, I've got roughly the same problem! This came about when trying to pull both seats due to a wet carpet/underlay!
Passenger seat came out fine. But drivers seat the "rear-right" bolt just spins... the one that is kinda angled up
from the rear. Damn. Looks like no access from below. The other three came out OK.
The carpet of course cannot be removed as the seat is on top. Anyone had this problem? Any solutions?
I suppose I could figure out the least obtrusive cut on the carpet that will allow it to slide
out from under the driver's seat... Getting crazy with grinder/welder to gain access to the back-side of the bolt
is not going to help the carpet if it's in-place.
Cheers, John.

I’ll take a picture of the back right on my parts v70, 1998 so you can see the detail. Carpet is out
Well , it's ugly. It's in a metal box , I think I would just grind the heAd off the bolt

Hello Everyone,
Thanks for the replies... I attach a photo of the offending spinning bolt... As you can see it's well-protected
by some flanges on the seat base and the runner above. Getting a grinder on it is impossible. Any suggestions for
other types of cutting devices to get the head off the 8.8 grade bolt? Die grinder? I'm always happy to buy another
tool(s)...
Cheers, John.

You could drill it out but you're gonna be there a while. Then you have figure out how to reattach the blind nut or slip a new one in there with some spot welds on it or something. I dont know what the other side looks like but I imagine if you could locate it from underneath and drill a hole just big enough for a socket to fit through, that could work. Then you would need to pain any bare metal then plug the hole. Just a thought, haven't had this problem yet.

Drill it out and push a bolt through, then lock nut on the outside.
A Dremel tool can probably get in there, or you need to cut the frame and then reweld it when done
