That's because of LPG conversion.
There is NO car in the world which doesn't get check engine light after lpg conversion...especially the engines with 5,6,8 or 12 cyl.
More cylinders it have-harder the installation is and the price goes up with more cylinders.
You have lpg evaporators for up to 90kw for example,then...up to 150kw...and so on.
Lpg system and it's own ecu are a problem to match with original ecu and maps. There are a lot of lpg ecu and lpg systems on the market which are NOT fully compatible with various engine managements(jetronic, motronic 4.3 or 4.4...Me7).
Basically...the same engines...but totally different managements.
Check engine light appearing can be reduced with different maps(lpg system should addapt to petrol factory maps but again....it have it's own ecu which may or may be not compatible with specific engine management).
To much splicing into original wiring harness, you have drilled intake manifold to suit lpg injectors.
There will not be ill effects, but check engine light will be hard to avoid and that would be something that you will need to accept.

Thanks everyone! I singled out the gasoline system because the light doesn't come on when driving on gasoline. I called the LPG mechanic today and he's gonna look at the system this wednesday. I can live with a lit CEL if I know that the engine isnt running too rich or to lean. I'm defenitely gonna check the UK LPG thread! I'm gonna update this thread as soon as I know more!Stu70 wrote: ↑31 Jan 2021, 16:41 You may have more success with questions relating to LPG and other fuel conversions on the UK Volvo site , where there are installers, fanatics and, a dedicated forum for LPG/CNG

That's what i was talking about.
The fact that CEL doesn't come on when you drive on petrol indicates that there is a fault with LPG system or LPG installation.
In lots of cases...after LPG conversion...the CEL is ON on both fuels.

Well I've got a little update for you all concerning the lit CEL on my S70 after the LPG conversion. I've been back to the LPG-mechanic for a second time and I have to say, the CEL stays of and hasn't lit up for the last 5 days. I've noticed that the accelerating, under part load and full load, is a bit smoother than it was before. It's not much, but it's noticable
