Something tells me this is too good to be true:

A T5 with 105k miles (and black!) for $2200...
Some weirdness in the ad:
- calls it an S60 at one point
- calls it a '97 in the ad copy but a '98 in the title
Both mistakes an owner would never in a million years do, so I'm thinking at best it's a dealer who doesn't know much about the car. But if that's the case why would they price a T5 so low, especially with such low mileage? And why wouldn't they mention that it's a T5 in the title? Maybe someone selling it for someone else?
I called the guy and emailed but so far haven't heard back.
Any thoughts?
I am, sadly, not in the market for a car at the moment and can't think of anyone who is. But if someone gets the car because of this post they owe me a 6-pack at the least!

If I was in LA, I'd go see this car. It looks ok to me, barring the ad mistakes. Sometimes people just can't make an ad without errors, it happens.

Me too.
I just spoke to the guy, he said he's reselling cars for a living now, sounds new to it. Said he replaced the engine mounts but everything else was fine with the car. He didn't know about the timing belt but is going to call me back after looking for the sticker that might have that info.
I'm in San Francisco, I'm almost tempted to road trip. Almost.
I should just content myself with my GLT.

Throw a bigger turbo on that GLT. "Better the devil you know."

The first owner was consistent of not being late with his smog and registration. Looks like it changed hand in 2016. First owner probably took very good care of it. With all the minor but potentially lengthy work here and there like removing the terrible window tint, fixing the paint blemishes and tape off the driver's side corner light many people just don't want the hassle.
The reason I would buy it is for the robust transmission, low miles overall clean paint and body. The only reason not to buy it is no curtain airbags. Looks like a real deal however. Get a Carfax so you can resell it if for some reason you don't like or want to sell it in the future. Clean it up some and I bet some _____ would pay top dollars on BAT. It's how you package it!

It is probably the lighting but does the coolant look low and the wrong colour? Also, these cars still hold up in a collision at the driver side door without curtain airbags. Just check my post history

I was looking for a side crash test and saw this. Exactly like my former 98 S70 T5 except for the 5M and wheels. I swapped mine out for the 01 V70 15 rims for a better ride. I would buy this one however! Not sure when the side head airbag at the end of the video came into use on the sedan. It was in the 99 C70's. The side head airbag makes a huge differene in the head/neck deflection angle.

Current Volvos:
1998 V70 T5, 112k sat 5 years, still in mechanical coma (finally at the top of the pile )
2004 XC90 T6 AWD: 186k, 60 on transaxle ( traded in )
1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)
