P80 Terminal ejector kit sourced??

Help, Advice and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's P80 platform cars -- Volvo's 1990s "bread and butter" cars -- powered by the ubiquitous and durable Volvo inline 5-cylinder engine.

P80 Terminal ejector kit sourced??

Has anyone sourced the right terminal ejector kit for Volvo plugs?

They only run about $10 but it would be good to know which one works.

That link goes to solder tubes for me, most likely due to being redirected to the UK site.

I've never found one single pin that works, but I've had success on 3/4 pins I've tried to remove simply by using one of the eBay generic items.

Success on: heated seat thermostat, ABS plug (sensor side), princess mirror light
Failed on: ABS pump terminals.

Not the most useful answer, I grant you, and sincerely hope someone more skilled than I found a robust and reliable option.

I've got that set of tools, or something very similar.

I recently used it on ECU terminals and a couple others.

You're bound to find something that works in there for whatever you're trying to do.

The TE/AMP junior power timer connectors everywhere on the car use the same tool. The VW pin release tool works fine. I like the one with the yellow screwdriver style handle.

What do you mean bu "Volvo Plugs" ? ... the connector to the coil packs?
Electrical connectors are not vehicle specific. If you buy a large set most likely you will have the one you need.
A Loupe helps when trying to figure out how the connector comes apart.

Are you talking about depinning the JPT connectors which are used on fuel injectors and almost all the sensor connectors? Or the dashboard and interior connectors?

No manual in existence. You got to figure out each connector and match up the tool as you go.

This was the video that got me going with the under hood JPT connectors. It deals with the VW style of connector with the plastic latch which usually breaks when you pry it up to separate the two parts. I was able to apply this info to the much nicer connectors we have on Volvos where you just squeeze the stainless wire and pull. The connector bodies are crazy cheap when you buy them from Volvo.



I haven't depinned anything inside the car yet, can't help you there.
