2004 XC70 oil pan condition

To drop this oil pan (2004 XC70), did you have to move anything like power steering lines or AC lines, or loosen the subframe or raise the engine etc? Or does this one just drop down and wiggle out once you remove all the bolts?

There's a fuel line bracket bolted to the top of the oil pan, but other than that nothing needed to be removed, just wiggled out.

Removing the transmission torque mount probably helps, as its bolts are kind of bulky.

I'd say it's pretty straightforward.

Smoky Yunick, master mechanic, racer, and owner of 'The Best Damn Garage in Town' had a rule of thumb for oil pressure - you need 10 PSI for every 1000 RPM.

Detroit Diesel 2 stroke engines were known to have very low oil pressure at idle - 8 to 10 PSI. It did not reduce their useful life.

I wonder what's the hot idle oil pressure psi most people see.

Is it true that 20 psi or above is normal?

I couldn't find a lot of data here. Probably because if the car runs great people wouldn't bother measuring the pressure.

Update 5000 miles later, the engine is still fine, oil lamp goes off quickly after startup
