Nope it's the giant potato gun thing. I'm too old to trust new things. It's rated to 1000+something something. MOAR POWAHHHH.

I'd like pictures too.

I’ll have to dig for the roofing pictures but here’s the Twins coming home, and a cruise to Alaska

We had to stop at 6 because the VW transporter only had 8 seats

Haha...what a great reason to stop.

Lemme tell ya, that new air compressor and gun are awesome. The bolts and nut came off like an M1A1 towing a tricycle.

Water pump, pulley, tensioners, timing belt and serp belt are all replaced. The only hiccup really came with the new serp tensioner in that instead of a 14mm nut to release, it was a torx 55. So that was a scramble trying to remember where I cleverly hid my giant-arse torx sockets. Turns out they're on the rail with the rest of them in the top drawer of giant-but-still-too-small-somehow tool box. Duh.

Anywho, I added nearly a gallon of distilled water to the reservoir before it would take no more. Then I got seepy and opted to call it a night before I did something stupid like try to drive sans wheel or something. I'll go back there soon and KOEO with the blower on to see if I can't convince coolant system to drink. It makes me nervous reading Volvo's 'drive it anyway and add coolant later' write-ups. While Ben sips his Pentosin I'll vacuum etc (I'm tempted to change the fuel filter too) and prepare him for the road trip on Saturday.

Hood swap (before and after), found one from a 2001 S60 that's a bit more sun-faded. For context, a large pickup backed into me without warning and I needed to swap hood, headlights, bumper cover, grille, and radiator mount. Got new fogs while I was at it.

Up next, brakes have been spongy at startup so I'll be swapping the vacuum switch first (which is brittle and missing a spring?). Will see if that fixes the problem, else it'll be the pump as well. Any idea what goes on the bracket on the air filter box?

I installed a new to me parking brake boot on my V70. Prefect fit, color match, and looks like new. The old boot had lost most of the fake leather cover.

I need one of those, and a shifter boot! Where did you get it? I was afraid to order one from Ebay because I wasn't sure if the quality would be any good. Do tell!

I ordered a brake lever boot from eBay for my 03 S80 T6 and it was a for right hand driver car meaning for European models. The company swore it was the correct boot. Regardless, they did provide a refund. Been off for over a year and still looking. Just check the pictures carefully before ordering.

Another MVS member found it in a salvage yard after I posted it as wanted many months ago. Good luck in your search.
