2004 S40 cigarette lighter trim ring

Post by ZootAllures »

Hello,

My question is about the cigarette lighter trim ring light. I've successfully changed my shifter light so I can see the gears at night, as well as my AC and heat knob lights. Now I'm keen to have the plastic ring around the cigarette lighter be illuminated, but I'm not certain how it's done. I opened up the same access areas I did when I replaced the gear shifter light bulb and I see the connection to the lighter. I even unplugged it. But what I don't see or understand is how to replace it or access the bulb, which looks as though it might be in a small casing on the side of the lighter cylinder. I have two pictures that show exactly what I'm referring to. Any insight is appreciated. Thank you in advance!
