Balky Turn Signal Stalk?

Post by a3inverter »

All,

Have noticed over the last several weeks that my turn signal stalk seems to require a bit of downward pressure to get a good connection when using it to turn left.

Not sure if this is related to contacts wearing out, accumulation of dirt or debris, or something else.

Thoughts on how I might remedy this situation? I suppose I could hit the junkyard and get a new one, but maybe there's an easier fix.

Thanks!

The switch can be removed and disassembled to the point of exposing the inner contacts. Open up the switch over a towel in case some tiny pieces fall loose. Once inside you can scrape the old hardened electrical grease off of the contacts. I’ve had to do that on two cars so far.
