That looks like the FPR on the fuel rail config; with a return fuel line and a vacuum line running under the intake manifold

Well, I forgot to mention that the roof rail on one side was chopped off, looks like a tree fell on the roof, the rack rail took most of the brunt, but the roof metal had some medium size dents.

That being said, I was prepared to pay up to $2500 with the dented roof, the car brought $3500 today, which I thought was really high. Oh well.

You are probably upside down with every single one that is out there for sale, even if you pay next to nothing for it.
I paid $650 for my S70 that was mechanically in decent shape. It took almost $3k to bring it to stage 0. Then I paid another $500 for interior bits and what not, because the poor thing was totally trashed.
Marked value is maybe $1500?
I think owning a P80 is more about passion than financial aspects and it will be like that for a while longer until their value will go up significantly.

You are right about the input required on an old P80 or pretty much any old car let alone a Volvo. The thing is if you look at it financially few old cars used for daily driving would ever make sense. The way I try to justify it to myself is once that money is invested, you could easily get another 5 years of fairly cheap motoring driving something practical but not having to worry too much about being precious with the vehicle. Compare that to payments on a new vehicle and the depreciation over that time then it makes some sense.
