V70 and s80 stereo and telephone compatibility

Are the radio and telephone setup from s80 interchangeable with v70? The -04 S80 t6 comes with same radio models. Also comes with the telephone setup. In Europe the v70 also comes equipped with the phone setup. I want to install the telephone into a v70 at some point when I get it.

2004 will be a 3G which will sunset in early 2022, perhaps a bit longer if it’s CDMA

Not worth investing either time or money there

My goal is to somehow convert to 4g. Do you know about the interchangeability?

No , but brain surgery might be easier than that conversion.

Scour the webs to see if 3G to 4G conversions are a thing, I don’t think they are

No not the conversion. I remember last year I was looking for the same info for my 960. There was nothing about that so I focused on finding 1 article or forum where the 960 has that feature installed and I couldn't find it. I did however find a bmw forum where the guy talked about how to make the factory bmw phone work. But that's based on 3g service.

I would go the Volvo online owners manuals for the S80 and V70 and see if the same radio is spec'd for the two models - that probably means the wiring harnesses will work, but that is pure abspeculation.

i would bet they are inter swappable, i would recommend a non volvo radio upgrade

The next time I go to a junkyard, I will check if v70 and s80 swap. That's if they both occur at same time. I'm just wanting to install telephone though. I like oem radios in Volvo. My 96 960 was top of the line insanely good, needed no upgrades, had no upgrades. Best oem stereo system ever in 25 cars I've been in. On my 01 v70 base model, it was okay but adding a subwoofer to the center dash made a big difference.
