Bummer. A couple of pics since I still have the ad open, attached.

Text of the ad was:

1998 Volvo S70 R 130k, excellent condition, all works, clean title in my name in my hand, just smogged and registered to 2022, tires almost new, no accidents, no leaks, no lights, new brakes, excellent leather, ac ice cold, tight steering and new struts. I have done many things to it at RC Volvo in Chula Vista to get it to its excellent condition. ITS all there. Call number on button or email. Or decipher my number below:) [number removed]

Was there a P80 V70R? I stumbled across an AutoTrader listing for one at my local Volvo dealership for $10k!! I should have gone to test drive it just for the sake of rarity but would have felt bad since I had no interest in buying it. I wonder if someone who worked there decided to sell their personal toy. How else would a random New England dealership wind up with a V70R.

I've seen a few other P80 V70R listings on eBay. Like that "laser blue" one in Florida in March. "Car bogs down under full throttle, but still works." I was tempted to fly down, throw some spark plugs in it, and drive it home. Because come on, laser blue. (Kind of doubt that was a legit factory color in 1998-2000).

autocheck.com reports that license plate (8TWD776) as belonging to an S70 GLT. As a GLT owner, I'm insulted by his GLT shame.

Absolutely, 98-00 models. Laser blue was not until 99 V70R, however.

1998 V70R colors:
Black
Nautic Blue
Silver Metallic
Coral Red
Regency Red
Saffron

A few more/different colors in 99 and 00. Dark Olive Green was a nice one.
