Hey now y'all. Abscate clearly doesn't have his cookie jar out at the moment. Y'all best be careful.

DUDE I had a grand old time! I called that guy because he didn't want to text. He sounded like 60 years old. He said he spent $6,000 on the paint job and that's it. He said it's in immaculate condition. He said he doesn't know much about volvos, but saw a 98 v70R with 170,000 miles for sale 'in the States' for $19,000. I asked him if he did timing belt, pcv, water pump. He said he has done NOTHING besides the paint job and that the paint job and it being a manual is why he's asking for $15,000. I asked him if he has maintenance records of any maintenance. He said no. I asked him to hang on because I wanted to 'pull up some info'. So I came back here and read back Abscate's ^phrase^. He hung up right after I finished. 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 Abscate is right. And that guy is delusional.
UPDATE: I texted him after the call. I advised him to copy abscate's phrase to look back on later. Then I explained to him the balance of Blue Book vs enthusiast pricing for the 98 v70 t5m. Then I told him he is an optimistic but delusional car enthusiast. I told him I was shocked that there was no maintenance done or known for the car, even records. WHAT was his response? Ha ha I own one and you don't. I told him I have $3500 and am going to buy one 300 miles from me. His response? Get a life.

The first problem I see is that he won't text... in this day and age, I wont talk on the phone to anyone, especially not someone I don't know. It's just awkward. Plus there are too many scammers, I don't have time to hear about my car warranty that's expiring soon. There are maybe 3 people I ever answer calls from. We have the wonderful technology of text... use it! I can look back at everything if I miss a detail, and you eliminate the inconvenience of not being able to understand a person. Hell, I have a hard time understanding people in person when I feel like I'm on the spot, I want to complicate that further by talking on the phone? Not to mention I never have the time to focus on a phone conversation. People seem to think it's sketchy that a lot of us when buying or selling don't want to talk on the phone, but it's just how times are changing. It's one of the very few changes I don't mind!
Anyway, now that that rant is over... the guy is delusional for sure. He's never going to sell it at that price. Time to throw it on BaT... that's the only place you can get outrageous amounts of money for a car that's not worth it. And it likely won't even be approved on there.

...$19k for a P80... :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

I think this is a flood car. Look at the engine bay -- is that dust or silt? -- and the back seat photo. It looks like a water line on the leather.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link

Hard to tell from cellphone pics, but the ask does seem a bit under market. I'm so fully committed to P80s that this one is more for our little group to ogle, and nothing beats the Mark I Eyeball examination.

Baltimoron here. In that neighborhood the odds of that being a flood car is possible, because in that area there is a bunch auction car/used car dealers. That is a parts car at best.
Used to have a 01 c70 convertible

If the C/L locator beacon is to be believed, north of Druid Hill ?
I went into the old streetcar powerhouse some years ago. Scary part of town.
