Ha! It’s reserved for the 1999-2000 with their sexy Italian throttles

I had a cracked fan shroud, so I went to the JY to find a replacement. I noticed a slight difference in the style of fan blades between the older and newer P80's. Not sure if one style is better than the other, but when I removed my existing shroud, I found that it has these air flaps that no of the other ones I saw had, no matter if older or newer. Any thoughts on if these flaps are necessary ( to help cool the alternator ? ) or if they were just a passing idea for one year or so.

The idea behind the air flaps are to better regulate the temperature. It helps keep some warm air in the radiator, so it's at a more efficient temperature.Sveedy wrote: ↑04 Apr 2021, 09:47 I had a cracked fan shroud, so I went to the JY to find a replacement. Thanks bmdubya ! So do you think it's a better design than no flaps at all ? All the other shrouds were solid, but I'm not against either modifying one or just repairing mine if the flaps are a good thing to have. Don't know why they all don't have them.

]065.jpg[/attachment]Removed the nasty 26 year old headliner. I got tired of breathing brown snow. The sensor for ECC This is why I had to replace the climate control. You have to remove the headliner to access the sensors which is insane.

Looks familiar... I just dropped my headliner yesterday in the V70R. Just got done laying down new fabric. Hopefully it comes out well, I had a couple small spots that didn't really want to lay flat (cargo net hooks).
I think so. I don't know how much of a difference it really makes, but it's just something I like to have in place. If for nothing else, I feel better! lol
Hmm... now I'm thinking, I'm not sure if my P80 shrouds have them. I know the RWD ones do. That curved blade fan is the older style that Volvo put in 960s/S/V90s. I guess early 850s got them too, because the RWD fans have longer wiring.

Pulled Shaggkira driver seat, shampood carpet.
Fore aft motor stuck on driver. Tested motor, stalled. Removed motor, runs. Gear box apparently seized, or runners seized. I used my other 99 to mark a seat position that fits three ladies that drive this car and set the runners there.
Swapped in a nice arena/ wood console and swapped in driver kick panel.

Just threw mats back in the S70 today after shampooing them yesterday. They were covered in red dirt... looked nasty.
Reinstalled my headliner after reupholstering it yesterday. What a pain! It looks worlds better now, and it's nice to not have it flapping around and raining foam on me.
I'm actually pleasantly surprised with how it came out. There are a couple small wrinkles, but it'll be fine... they're covered. I got the material on Amazon for about $70, can of 3M headliner adhesive was $16 at Walmart. Hopefully it wasn't garbage... I wasn't thrilled with the Permatex stuff I've used before on sunroof shades. Then again, those were more touchups... I never cleaned the foam off and redid it properly.
