Coolant termperature sensor location Topic is solved

I have a Volvo S-40 II 1.8i B4184S11 16v( just before the facelift new model ) , The engine temperature meter is rising for 1/4 ( high way ) after leaving and driving in the city it will come to the exact middle. already replaced the thermostat but without any result, In the winter the meter won't come up at all. The car have a high fuel consumption now and runs rough, after it sometimes comes to the middle the car runs good and smooth. the only suspect I have is the coolant temperature sensor but no idea where it is located in this car. If someone has a photo or can explain were it is located that will be real helpful. Or have other suggestions of course. thanks up front
