Solar Sensor to fix the AC

Post by ansarisan »

Hey all, first post here. Just got a 1998 s90 that is running great except for the AC. Took it to a independent volvo shop and we got the diagnostic code of 1-6-1 indicating the solar sensor isn’t working, thus the AC will not turn on.

Haven’t found any replacement solar sensors online and would love a hand in locating one!

"A strong light (not fluorescent light) must be placed near the solar sensor, otherwise the diagnostic trouble code for the solar sensor will be shown, even it it's not defective. (If you forget the light, the ignition must be turned off before the next "request", otherwise the diagnostic trouble code for the solar sensor will be shown anyway). "
