I'm impressed. Headliners are difficult.

Fore aft motor stuck on driver. Tested motor, stalled. Removed motor, runs. Gear box apparently seized, or runners seized. I used my other 99 to mark a seat position that fits three ladies that drive this car and set the runners there.

Forgot to post this with my other one. Helpful hint I just found out, when the trunk struts go bad, that heavy ass trunk lid will destroy your taillights. The passenger side was fresh in the trunk when I got the car and I replaced it too fast.

I might need the whole gearbox. Not sure if the gearbox or rail is seized up

Ooof... that sucks! I just put newer struts in the S70 earlier. Hit the stick I was holding it open with with my elbow while trying to attach one of them. Didn't feel too good smashing down on my head!

They're certainly a pain. I'm honestly surprised with myself, I had it done in 3 days with maybe an hour per day of actual work. And I HATE interior work of any kind.
I need to stop doubting myself!

I'd say never again, but with my track record, I'll probably be doing another one within a few months  .

Reinstalled my headliner after reupholstering it yesterday. What a pain! It looks worlds better now, and it's nice to not have it flapping around and raining foam on me.
I'm actually pleasantly surprised with how it came out. There are a couple small wrinkles, but it'll be fine... they're covered. I got the material on Amazon for about $70, can of 3M headliner adhesive was $16 at Walmart. Hopefully it wasn't garbage... I wasn't thrilled with the Permatex stuff I've used before on sunroof shades. Then again, those were more touchups... I never cleaned the foam off and redid it properly.
Nice! I was thinking about the easiest way to remove the old foam without destroying the form and the wire wheel on the drill is a great idea.

Brought my s70 for lifetime alignment at Firestone and they said one of my control arms had play in it. I replaced both control arms in March 2020 about ~17,000 miles ago with Meyle HD units. Thankfully i got them from FCP Euro so it's really no sweat off my back, but I'm surprised they developed play so quickly.

That said, it's possible i torqued the bolts with the control arm unsprung, so this could be my fault.

Meyle is kinda hit or miss on quality as well. Some stuff wears out pretty quickly, and other parts last a while.

That looks fantastic! I had opted to keep the 'industrial' look of having no headliner and just bare metal, which the kids noted gets REALLY hot on warm sunny days, but now I'm curious about finishing this job.

What did you look for in searching for replacement cloth?

How did you manage to get the visor clips in/out without breaking them? Mine now rattle because I damaged them while removing them.

Why thank you! The visor clips can be tricky, my passenger side is a little loose but it’ll be fine for now. They usually come out with a little persuasion if you pull back and angle the front side down.

I got this fabric on Amazon: Automotive Roof Upholstery Headliner Fabric Craft Foam Backing Gray 85" x 60" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F2ZRC6J/re ... EA11?psc=1

It’s a nice material, not cheap feeling. It’s more similar to my E39’s headliner than the original microfiber-ish Volvo material. Even looks like it went down in price!
