2008 s60 transmission does nothing

Post by Tbonez78 »

Ive got a 2008 s60 that all of a sudden will not move, made a trip to town ran great no slippage ,jerks, grinding etc. Parked it went to leave the next day and nothing, no reverse or drive. Fluid appears clean not burnt, and no tcm codes . Kinda @ a loss here.

My 2010 S80 has an Aisin transmission.

I am not sure about your S60

Does the dash show PRND as you move the Gear Selector Lever?

The connection between the TCM and your hand is a cable and a mechanism (that give you the tactile feedback)

If the Cable snaps or if jumps off the mechanism then you could have a no gear engagement fault.

No signal sent.........No message received.

Take Care

Paul

Welcome to MVS tbonez!

I just recently started splitting time between upstate and BROOKHAVEN.

Check your transmission fluid first. Procedure is in user manual, manuals are online if you don’t have the book. You can do a quick check for fluid cold, but the correct level is important and has to be done via the procedure

Hey Tbonez! Just stumbled onto this forum because my car is doing the exact same thing. Only difference is it happened while driving. Local shade tree mechanic has had it for months. Just wondering if you ever got it solved

Clogged internal filter. Means too much material fell apart from the clutches. Can be made to drive again by backflushing it.
