Reinstalled my fuel tank after replacing the filler tube gasket and filled it up. No fuel leaks or smell!

Well done on the fuel tank fix. Hopefully that is the issue done with.

Screw those tailgate panel mounts, they are the worst designed part on the entire car! Mine is ALWAYS rattling, no matter how much I do to fix it. It just breaks more every time I breathe on it :lol:.

Yup, off Rescue R ( don't have your advanced knicknaming knack ). It was taking a quart for each round trip to DC. I bought the o-rings and clips along with some hydraulic hose a while ago. Don't understand why it didn't help, although, to be fair, the stuff was in the glove box.

Thanks, Neil, everything will get a good scrubbing before reassembly. Might even soak the rusty bits first to clean them up. Can't understand how they got rusty with the total-loss oil bath treatment.

I have been swapping clips for 2 years now, finally took the time to swap the new repair kit and it seems to be holding fine but for how long ?

My V70 have never been so silent inside :mrgreen:

Load those clip repair kits with JB weld and they are silent forever.

They work well if you're very careful with installation. I need to improve mine somehow... JB Weld is sounding really nice!

Thinking about using a small dollop of Gorilla Glue on my next visit inside. The 850 has a right obnoxious rattle inside the D/S door too, which I'm sure will need chemical intervention.

I’ve found the right chemical intervention and those things don’t bother me anymore. Too much, though,and the knots in wood turn into eyes that follow me which is disturbing. Next come the voices........buy another Volvo.......buy another Volvo.....
