Hi everyone.
I'm trying to identify one or two root causes for the current noises on my 2006 XC70, so I can potentially get the parts myself before heading to my mechanic. I've recorded myself driving through my alley, which is very telling due to the potholes. A few things to consider:
-Noise clearly comes from going in/out the potholes, but it's also audible in a regular paved road.
-Noise "sort of" increases with braking, but not substantially so maybe there's a mix between suspension/breaks.
-Front struts assembly was recently changed (~8 months ago) for both sides.

Does anyone recognize the squeaking?
Thanks!

I would lift the tire 1 inch off the ground, set car on a jackstand.
Put a pry bar under the tire and lever the tire up and down, should be able to zero in on that squeak.
Stethescope or length of tube in your ear works.

Check the top nut on the struts. 21mm wrench or just big pliers; you have to remove the plastic caps first. It should resist turning and spring back to moderate force. If you can turn the nut/shaft, then the spring seats are already broken. Expected if these were quick-struts or any off brand spring seat.

So I'm not even sure the suspensions are similar but on my son's 2007 S80 a similar squeek from the rear suspension was the trailing arm bushings. I could get it to squeek by just pushing up and down on the open rear door door sill. Good luck.

Do as recommended above. Once you isolate the sound get some silicon spray as it shouldn't harm and bushings, and spray the suspect part with an eye at getting at the noise source. Give it a good coating.
Then drive the car and see if the noise goes away. With age many suspension joints fail due to water contamination and resulting rust. The silicon will temporarily provide some needed lubrication.
A good suspension tech will find the problem. Volvos have a pretty simple and straight forward suspension design.

Hello again
So, I took the car to my Volvo mechanic for a change on the control arm bushings, and I also asked them to look into this noise. What they found really surprised me. They are saying the noise comes from the Blower motor/resistor being about to die.
They have not quoted me the repair/part cost but after watching some videos it seems I can get the parts and changing it myself (through the glove compartment).
Does this make any sense to you guys as a potential Root cause?
Thanks!

Those parts may have a problem but I can't see how that noise in the video could originate with the climate control system. Pull the fuse on the climate control and see if the noise persists.
