He retrofitted it with the aluminum drums and these very tall wheels. I'm wondering if it was originally to fit the biggest drum they could on the race cars. A 4" x 16" bias-ply race tire is something you don't normally see.
It was a blast to ride in. Very solid and stiff. The wind hits you right above your eyebrows. It has a 2.1 VW built by a California specialist to around 140 hp. And he said it has a "freeway flyer" transaxle, which gives it longer legs at higher speeds.
He found 1956 Montana license plates......

Custom-built Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale, by Conrad Stevenson. He took it to Mexico to race the Carrera Panamericana. Started with just the upper part of a shell. He has a nice perspective of the history of Alfa.
