99 s70 GLT Upper radiator hose popped off

Post by kylejw1 »

Hey there,

Tonight my upper radiator hose popped off. I was able to get pulled over right away so no issue there.

My right motor mount is shot and I recently had the car jacked up on one side pretty high so my gut says the hose may have just worked loose over time. Clamp was rusted like crazy.

I clamped the hose back on, filled it up and went for a spirited drive, let it idle, high load driving etc. All seems fine.

My concern is that there is no barb or lip on the radiator where the hose attaches. I'm wondering if that's normal or if it may have broken off?

Thanks

Depending on which radiator is installed you might have just a straight pipe. Popping off the hose is good, the more common failure is to strain open the side tank on the radiator to failure , at which point a new radiator is needed. Get those motor mounts fixed!
