Well Vtl I was never really A Beer drinker I do have plenty of scotch? Hate to waste it, never know if this car will get me drinking again. lol
Maybe I have a failing coil or injector, I just don't know like I said I tested compression with all the plugs out looked good to me, I disconnected each coiled one of the time you can hear the difference same with your fuel injectors then I went to the trouble of locking the cams and checking the timing that was spot on, ran the car without the serpentine belt thought maybe bad pump or something was bad there. Water pump is from Volvo that was changed a few years ago felt tight none of the pulleys or tensioners are screaming. Throwing Parts at this car hasn't worked so far. I tested everything I could think of that would cause the engine to run rough/uneven. I haven't had a single code come up. Only leak in found was a small one under antifreeze reserve tank.
All this because I knocked Bambi over... smh.
Thanks guys

When you solve your mystery, the engine will be running smooth like new.
Bad coil is actually not a bad idea. Or bad wiring harness. I'd give you my old good parts if we'd live closer. I was replacing sensors/etc with new before they fail me in boonies hundreds of miles away from any organized form of life.
My engine runs exceptionally smooth after the rebuild. The transmission is one leg in grave, yes, but I'll have it addressed soon.

Thanks
But I'm not sure in which direction to go good coils aren't cheap same with fuel injectors. And what if it doesn't help. The car is 19ys old.. for me it was always a comfortable car .. grrrr

I can tell you we plan to get rid of wife's like new 16 XC60 and leave my 05 money hog alone, because it is comfortable both for human riders and human mechanics. New Volvos are not like they used to be for their gloriest generations.
Buy one cheap coil, it does not need to live another 20 years in order to run a one time diagnostic. I bough one Beck&Arnley coil a decade ago, for a cheap six-pack price, and it allowed me to trace the bad coil with ease.

I guess I can try that.
So what if I have to eat plan no name paste, rice and only drink rain water...
lol
I do have 2,3 coils I got out of a junkyard volvo a few years back. I've tried them and they seem to work- but I don't know if there really good .?
When this 1st started I use my spark tested all sparks seemed the same, then I replaced the plugs. And even the new plugs seemed to throw the same spark..
The car starts right up no prolong crank time maybe 3 seconds if not shorter

No it wasn't.
The grill was ok just pushed into the bumper cover and a few push pins that hold the bumper along the top of the metal above the radiator. No body damage nothing bent, nothing I seen do far...I did put 12,15 psi into the intercooler by capping one end and pressurizing it from the turbo side It held the pressure from more than 30 minutes before I took it apart.
