1997 Volvo 850 GLT $600

Post by combatkarl »

Car is located in Rochester, MN.
208,200 miles
It is a beater car. Mismatched drivers side doors after a side swipe by a truck. Lots of recent maintenance: timing belt, water pump, PCV system, plugs/wires/cap/rotor, fairly new front brake calipers, struts (Gabriel quick struts).
Cracked windshield and bent A pillar but doesn't leak. Interior is worn with usual seat and headliner issues. 2 almost new tires and the other 2 are good. Also have steel rims with winter tires.
Engine runs good at low rpm/slow speeds and with gentle pressure on accelerator it is okay. When trying to accelerate quickly, engine falls on its face...cuts out. I don't need the car anymore and am done with it. Have owned for 9 years and been through three teen drivers. I have records for parts and service. TB and water pump was done by auto shop with my Continental kit. Can send pictures and will attempt to upload pictures to this post.
Thanks
Karl

It's the elusive '97 GLT, folks, someone out there grab it! ;)

EDIT: $5 says your acceleration issue is a plugged fuel filter. How perfect, though, just the way it is, for a teenage driver...

:D  EDIT: $5 says your acceleration issue is a plugged fuel filter. How perfect, though, just the way it is, for a teenage driver.

I had replaced fuel filter just over a year ago, but then it sat for ~9 months. I had also tested fuel pressure and it was normal.

Since I had a fuel filter in the spare parts bin, I replaced it. It runs much better.

New price is $605 to pay the man with the suggestion!
