Restoring cast iron windows in basement, 1 done, 4 more to go. These are simple and easy to work with; removing; stripping, rust-proofing, painting, new glass and glazing makes it look great -- Tremco Vulkem 116 is best to finish material joints.

It’s expensive but I’ve been putting grace ice shield on my entire roof. It’s about $2 a square foot added, but it makes your roof impervious to water events. I had a contractor suggest it years ago when I had a roof just under the 12:2 slope for shingles, but I hate roll roofing with a passion.

Ice shield is in the building code in our area. Contractors love it, insurance adjuster rolls his eyes.

I had to google grace ice shield. It is not a big issue in the warm and dry south (usually). When my last roof was installed, I used architectural shingles. They are heavier and the insurance rate was lower. The insurance reduction nearly paid for the additional shingle cost. The issue we have here is hailstorms. We can expect to replace a roof every 10 to 15 years because of single or multiple hail storms.

Hailstorms are now yearly event in our area. It is a powerful natural event with sight and sound.
Last year saw the baseball size spiraling down -- my jaw dropped watching the speed. The damage to our XC90 was costly but 100% covered. The homes without large trees were battered; ours have spot damage. The ice shield code requires the entire roof be replaced.

OK. Each square is a factor of 2 and the same numbers have the same colors. The patterns of rows and columns do not seem to repeat. Is it a type of move the square puzzle?

The game is called 2048. It is a single-player sliding tile puzzle. Game play is to slide and merge/sum like number tiles, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 1024, 2048. The goal is to get a 2048 tile. There are three 2048 above. 4096 + 2048 = 3 X 2048.
