As long as you think about your Volvo while fixing your Bimmer, thread title is satisfied.

Replaced what apparently was a bent Neptune on the wife's 855 over the weekend.

We had one wheel that had what appeared to be excessive balance weights on it, even after installing the new Nokians a few months back. On a recent trip, the car would develop a shake in the rear of the car (where the wheel was mounted). Enough so that our 3-year-old would "Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah" as it shook his seat. While funny, the wheel hop was annoying.

Had a similar bunch of weights when the old tires were on it, but I chalked it up to OLD tires, but was surprised to see a similar weigh when the new tires were installed.

Got a notification that an XC90 had just arrived on the local yard, so I went over and snagged one and had the tire swapped. About half the balance weights were needed and the wife reported no shakes (or extra kid noises) on a recent highway run.

The wheel showed no obvious bends or dents, but evidently something was wrong with it.

Finally pushed the parts car back into the garage so I can drop the delta link, rack, and whatever else I need for the R as well as parts to stock and list for sale. If anyone needs interior trim pieces, let me know! I have about 3 P80s worth of trim! Of course, lots of pieces end up breaking, so I don't have EVERY piece in stock, but I have quite a bit.

Also popped my coolant level sensor back in on the R last night after the low coolant light came on when leaving Lowe's the other day. I pulled over and checked the coolant level and it was fine, so I knew what it had to be. I replaced the alternator the other day, and I guess I pulled the sensor down when moving the coolant reservoir.

Oh yeah, I already got the fuel tank pulled to get the fuel smell out of the garage (line was open and it still smelled from me removing the leftover gas last week). Took about 30 minutes to drop the tank and all the lines... I already know the AWD tank won’t be this easy  .

Volvo rims often don't show signs of damage as the damage is at the rear of the rim so you don't see it. The rear has less support on the edge of the rim and a big pot hole or kerb can push the edge of the rim inward. They can often be straightened by a good wheel repair company, but the cost can be higher than buying a replacement or even another set.

Yeah, I gave it a good look over, inside and out, but didn't notice any flat or bend spots. Even as I spun it.

I've had some with visible bends that balanced out fine and didn't shake the car.

$35 for a wheel at the pull-a-part was a safe bet.

A lot cleanup from the blowout
A lot cleanup from the blowout
I've been down for the past few weeks because my power steering pump decided to explode which complicated the repair. And learning how to put that serpentine belt for me was a comedy of errors (use a big ass 3/8 allen wrench to turn the pulley to spin the belt on), I even went to the jyard to get another tensioner pulley.
