Rear seat belt electronics?
My 2001 v70 needs rear seat belts. Can I use some universal belts or does the Volvo have some electronics hooked up to the unit? Its like ZERO volvo's in the junk yards locally .

On my 04 v70 I think the rear seat sensor is to detect anyone sitting there.
If it detects a rear passenger it looks for the seatbelt to be buckled.
If it didn't set an SRS light I wouldn't bother, if you need it for inspection I'd just sling an old belt in there and fake it.
I failed on my old volvo 740 because the front belt was removed, so I pulled one from the rear seats and installed that.
they didn't even look at the rear seats.

On my 2001 V70 T5, the rear seat belts have a electrical connection to the SRS. If the SRS wires are not connected on start, the SRS will set a fault. This particular fault can not be cleared by most code readers.

the sensor would be in the seat cushion.volvolugnut wrote: ↑20 May 2021, 11:52 On my 2001 V70 T5, the rear seat belts have a electrical connection to the SRS. If the SRS wires are not connected on start, the SRS will set a fault. This particular fault can not be cleared by most code readers.
