XC60 radio antenna amplifier location Topic is solved

HI,

The radio on my 2011 XC60 has stopped working after a very wet winter/spring. I suspect the antenna amplifier as when in AM mode the radio makes a sound similar to not having an antenna connected. The CD, Bluetooth sounds work fine so I definitely suspect that it is something to do with the antenna.

I checked the rear window antenna connection and it is fine. I noticed on eBay that people are selling antenna amplifiers and I would like to find out where the antenna amplifier is located on my XC60. I have searched the Internet and cannot find any information about this.

Under the headliner just inside the tailgate.

It is call the same thing in British.
Sit in the car then look up at the liner above your head ... headliner, headlining ... it is upholstery.
It lines the head ( roof ) of the car.

There are a bunch of antennas under the rear of the headliner, GPS, RTI, TV ... etc. I think the radio antenna amp is under the rear window trim but is connected to the antenna array under the headliner. Hooks to the wires in the glass which do double duty as Window defroster and radio antenna. Has a clip that looks like a 9V battery clip.
