They would be easier to install than new bushings, but that's not really the point. If you're bushing are worn out they should be replaced with new bushings. The inserts are oriented to give support 90 degrees adjacent to where the original Volvo bushings were designed to support, and won't give the same dampening and rigidity that was designed into Volvo bushings.
Ironically, the price is the same for both products, and having done this job I would say that the labor saved isn't worth the performance compromise. The job shouldn't take more than about three hours, even if you're drinking beer, and the results are dramatic.
