Alarm Siren Question

Post by tobybul »

I just want to verify from those who know whether the alarm siren is supposed to go off when the alarm is triggered.

I just replaced the siren module (bought from Erie Vovo). To simulate the alarm, I rolled down the drivers window, closed all the doors and locked the doors using the FOB. I reached in and opened the drivers door from the inside. Waited 10 secs and my side marker and turn lamps started flashing. But no audible siren.

Erie Vovo is sending me a replacement module so we will see.

If the doors are locked and alarm engaged , yes it should sound.
Many salvaged alarm modules are already toasted by the battery acid inside the module.
If you get one that works , change the battery asap...unless its a new unit in the box.

As above, when you lock the doors, do you see the red dash LED blinking ? May also want to drive the car for a while to have the internal siren battery recharged, just to make sure, and check again the siren fuse is good
