Yeah, the ones I put back in were nowhere near as long as the stock ones.bmdubya1198 wrote: ↑24 Jul 2021, 22:05 Given the location of the bolts, they probably take on a lot of spray from the road. They could be a little shorter.

This thing weighs the weight of a dead donkey. I also took out the passenger side carpet for a deep cleaning: humidification with cold water - washing - sodium bicarbonate sprinkled and left to act for an hour:

You can see how the power acts... Incredible. I don't know what the last owner has thrown on it, i do prefer not to know obliviously![]()
Electric trick :
Here, it's the big mystery : there a cable that goes from the back of the alternator to the relay, it seems to be the cable that comes from this part (clear blue arrow) :
Air Conditionning Unit.jpg
The relay HELLA (SAAB), has got the big red cable that comes from the main harness. Why did they do that ? :

I don't feel really comfortable wtih car wiring, becaise essentially i don't know well that stuff. But... (wait a minute...) but i have wirng harness. So i will see basically the cables colors tomorrow with the scheme, it should be okay.
Rear window wiper : there is power. So, i'm nearly sure it comes from the pump in the engine bay...
Cherry on the CaKe : i found this, hidden under a lot of dirt :

Power seat issu :
I have to look for a tutorial, i think our Bud Robbie DiY has done one somewhere...

I suppose that the white plug is the part squared in red on the board, am I right ?

I extracted the passenger front seat, washed and let it dry. Rather in good shape. Here's the result.

Yes, the passenger side looks in general enough clean. The driver side, on the other hand...
So, next :
To change, bad news first :
I had my windshield replaced in April. I had to go back 2 weeks later because it was letting water through... The technician explained to me after passing by the camera that the glue was missing... No kidding.
Today, I take out the mats, and everything is ok except under the feet of the conductive mat, water. The insulating foam is soaked, and the carpet too, but just a little, at the bottom in the lower corner. The nozzle that runs under the windshield was blocked by leaves and mud until Friday. Last Sunday it was a great storm. Could that explain this? Unless the windshield clown ran out of glue again?
The rest of the floor is dry and very healthy except for some non-piercing rust : What stuff do you recommend me to treat these rust points ?
Day Quizz :
What is that bolt for ?
Towing hitch
On my V70, i get one i would like to install on the 850.
These are the right ones, to assemble with red loctite ?
Question what is that part ?
How do you get out this cable tunnel to extract the soundproofing mat? Do you have to remove the center console?
Job to come next :
- The rear wiper pump does not work. When I press the button at the end of the steering wheel control, not a single noise comes out. But there is power to the entire rear installation.
- The cruise control does not work.[/list]

This week my rear wiper went out, and then the lightbulb indicator dash light began lighting up when braking. The bulbs were fine, but the several hatch wires had snapped.
I soldered and sealed them, then wrapped them in some electrical tape. Testing it out, the wires still had a tendency to bend into the path of the lift support. So I taped the whole thing down, and that seemed to do the trick.

Finally was able to find a good replacement fender for my wife's 97 GLT (bad paint on the topside).
As a bonus, the '00 XC70 that appeared on the yard the same day donated it's 21.5mm front sway bar.

That bolt is for the carbon canister bracket, I believe. I just dealt with that on my car. As for repairing that rust, I would recommend a product like OSPHO, which is a rust inhibitor.manovlov wrote: ↑25 Jul 2021, 10:59 Yes, the passenger side looks in general enough clean. The good news is that the leaves built up in the drains will certainly cause water to get into the car. I've had that issue too, I was relieved when I didn't have to reseal anything!

Thanks a lot for your experience feedback. I don't really worry about the water, it was so few that it could be a leaves issue.bmdubya1198 wrote: ↑26 Jul 2021, 10:20

Ospho, i don't know that stuff... but as far as i can see, it's out of my budget. I will keep the RUSTOL idea. I will charge my Makita with a steel brush to clean the surface.
Again, thanks so much, i feel less alone with this forum on my side.

Phosphoric acid does some Magic conversion thing, I use this stuff. Don't know what is available over there.
