2007 S80 3.2 FWD Auto -Not responding to throttle

So twice now, dearest spouse has mentioned she has trod on the accelerator, had the engine RPMs increase, but no corresponding increase in forward momentum.

Car had its 150K mile service recently and mileage is probably right about at 150K miles.

Any ideas what might be going on? No codes, no CEL. Wife says it tends to happen in high heat with AC on.

I have been unable to reproduce this fault.

Your problem sounds more like a transmission problem than a Engine or Accelerator pedal problem.

Try shifting into Manual mode and changing the gear when the problem occurs.

If the Transmission thinks that you are requesting neutral instead of drive it would do exactly what you have described.

What does the cluster show when the problem occurs D or N?

If you lean on the gear selector can you get it to go from D to N?

Check ATF fluid level to make sure you arent just down and the TC is running a bit dry. Unlike the engine, this wont damage it, it will just lose transfer of torque.
